What if I cannot make it to every course session?
Cocoon is designed to be collaborative, and attendance is important. If you need to miss a session when we are workshopping, I ask that you submit notes to the writers whose work we workshopped.
What if I’m still unsure which workshop to sign up for?

Who are the guest visitors at Cocoon?
Guests have included novelists Daphne Palasi Andreades, Zefyr Lisowski, and Casey Scieszka
Do I need an MFA or any previous writing instruction to join?
An MFA, or any particular previous writing instruction, is not necessary to join Cocoon.
Where exactly will we meet for in-person Cocoon offerings?
I will send out the address after receiving the deposit. We’ll meet in a classroom “pod” in Palenville, NY with mountain views and cozy seating. The pod is currently being built…photos to come!!!
What if I am highly motivated but money is an issue?
Payment plans are available for certain offerings and are linked to Stripe’s payment processer. If you have questions, email me at josselake@gmail.com (or click the icon).
Are deposits or second payments refundable?
Deposits are not refundable, though if they are submitted earlier than 1 month before the registration deadline, they may be transferable. Second payments are not refundable unless paid at least two months before start date.
What if I’m a Cocoon alumnus? How do I get my discount?
Yay! You can pay me through Zelle (josselake@gmail.com) or Venmo (@josslake) and get your 20% discount.
