Feeling overwhelmed by the pace of life? Have you been meaning to write but get distracted and pulled away?

In this five-week course, we will slow down to practice the act of deep looking and create a sense of presence in our writing.

Using immersive exercises and exploring works by Ross Gay, Joy Harjo, Patricia Ononiwu Kaishian, and Robert MacFarlane, we will immerse ourselves in the present moment and practice carrying this sense of presence into our writing.

    Open to all genres.

Each writer will have the opportunity to refine and conference one piece of work with me.

    Meets weekly (11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2)

“Deep” Cocoon courses are designed around experiential exercises, readings, in-class writing, and sharing work
